Where does the time go?

Fast when I’m not looking.

Learned a new word today. Yep. Elopus. It’s a thing. :)

Why Young Adult Fiction?

Why do I write Young Adult fiction (YA fiction)? Because I started writing when I was about 12.  I like the state of mind of a teenager.  Everything is still possible when you’re in-between full fledge adult and  . . . older child.

Being a young adult was fun so writing while visiting that state of mind is fun.  Don’t get me wrong, I like be an adult but I miss the fun drama.  Drama as an adult is sooo depressing and permanent.  :)

Take that with a grain of salt. Now, my inner teenager is wanting to plug into the iPhone and listen to music to get in the mood for deep thinking maybe I’ll write some poetry . . . and stuff.

Lessons learned. #1 Corsets can be a girls bestfriend.

In A Dangerous Longing the main character Avery is partial to corsets and ‘gothic’ dress. I love corsets. Real corsets with the steel boned and smooth fabric. The corset is wonderful at smoothing out love handles and does insist on straight posture. An added note to wearing a corset? Be sure to put your awesome black boots on BEFORE the corset.

Morbid little treats

I have some odd little things in my book A Dangerous Longing.  I wanted to share where some of the inspiration came from.

The stolen children.  The children being taken to fairy isn’t new but I did come across a really nice poem by William Allingham titled: The Fairies.  There are several verses to the poem but the one that I really liked goes as follows:

They stole little Bridget
For seven years long;
When she came down again
Her friends were all gone.
They took her lightly back
Between the night and morrow;
They thought she was fast asleep,
But she was dead with sorrow.
They have kept her ever since
Deep within the lake,
On a bed of flag leaves,
Watching till she wake

Going to be hearing fireworks from July 3rd until end of July.  Glad I sleep with a loud fan.

Goodreads

So, I put in a request to be added to Goodreads. Hopefully this will help generate some healthy curiousity. I still need at least 7 more reviews before I can get a push on some ebook author friendly websites.

If I wasn’t me today. . .

I would totally be outside right now taking pictures in the park and photoshop something creepy into the images for some visual enjoyment.  But today I’m the ‘me’ that is still fighting a cold and not feeling very energetic.  This ‘me’ is not much fun to hang out with.

Spoooky

Why oh why do I watch Paranormal Witness before bedtime?  Should probably visually wash this down with a Phineas and Ferb episode.

Typo

So, it doesn’t matter how many times you look at something or evidently, how many times others look at something, there is always that typo that gets missed over and over and over. . . bummer.
